Ride Under The Sun, Jam To Live Music At Night
After a day of riding the latest bikes and testing various cycling-related products at Fall CycloFest, be sure to stay and experience some great local food & beer – and the music of Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, The Downtube Shifters and GRAFFITTI!
Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue is a hard-edged funk group that employs hip-hop beats, rock dynamics and improvisation in a jazz tradition. The group is currently the opening act for Daryl Hall and John Oates on their national tour, and will be the headline act on Saturday, October 22, 2016.
The bike industry’s own Shane Cooper of Defeet Socks will be playing in one of the planned opening bands, and will also headline the industry night on Thursday, October 20th.
Cooper’s first band, The Downtube Shifters, features a group of cycling musicians including Dave Lee (formerly of The Legendary Shack Shakers) and others. This high-energy band will cover a variety of artists from high-energy rock n roll to rockabilly genres.
Cooper will also play on Thursday night for the industry crowd as part of his own 80’s cover band, GRAFFITTI. The band goes all the way back to 1985 and covers most of the rock standards from that era.
